Anyone who uses very powerful amplifiers in their vehicle knows the problem: During bass attacks, the nominal 12-volt onboard electrical system “gets on its knees,” which is noticeable, among other things, by the lights flickering in time with the music. The problem: A car battery is very powerful, but due to its high internal resistance, it is unable to deliver rapid current pulses. However, these are required so that very powerful amplifiers can reproduce bass cleanly and crisply.
With the new hybrid buffer capacitors from the ZEUS EXTREME ZXT series, such problems are a thing of the past. Thanks to modern hybrid technology, which uses an electrolyte liquid and a polymer as a film base, it is possible to fit up to 10 farads of capacitance in compact housings. At the same time, the technology ensures a very low equivalent series resistance (ESR), so that power is available in a flash.
ZEUS EXTREME ZXT capacitors deliver the stored extra power exactly when the subwoofer amplifier NEEDS a lot of energy IMMEDIATELY for a powerful bass hit. After that, the energy delivered is recharged from the battery into the power cap for the next attack. The capacitor can thus buffer and smooth voltage spikes by absorbing excess energy and releasing it again when needed.
Positive side effect: The service life of a vehicle battery can be extended by using a buffer capacitor.
