MUSWAY is known for building particularly high-quality and sophisticated DSP amplifiers that can be controlled via a smartphone app and also look great. The new M12 follows in this tradition, featuring an impressive 12 Class-D channels and an integrated 16-channel DSP. It is particularly appealing to Hi-Fi enthusiasts who want to enjoy their complex in-car speaker system without complicated wiring or the installation of multiple devices, allowing them to individually tune it for the best possible sound reproduction while also keeping it easy to control.

For optimal sound tuning, a high-quality input section is first required to receive the audio signals from the source. The M12 therefore features a substantial number of low-level and high-level input connections. This includes not only 6 pairs of RCA inputs and an additional AUX input, but also 12 pairs of high-level inputs that can receive signals from speakers. They are highly loadable with 20 volts RMS and come into play when a complex factory system is already installed in the vehicle. Of course, the high-level signals fed in are protected by EPS so that no errors occur in the diagnostic system. For Hi-Fi connoisseurs, an optical PCM input with 192 kHz and 24 bits is available “on top.” The optional BTS-HD dongle enables HD audio streaming via aptX codecs (576 kBits, 24 bits, 48 kHz).

While the high-end processor supplies the 12 channels internally, the DSP also provides 4 freely configurable RCA preamplifier outputs. These can be assigned to external applications and open up many expansion possibilities. This allows additional amplifiers to be included in the DSP performance, for example powerful mono amplifiers that are better suited for driving subwoofers. The MUSWAY ONE600 or ONE1000 monoblocks are particularly well suited for this. This allows the woofers often installed in pairs under the seats or in the footwell of BMWs or Mercedes to be optimally powered.

The heart of the M12 is the ADAU1452 processor from Analog Devices®, which is highly regarded by audiophile connoisseurs. It is perfectly and in real-time configurable via the easy-to-use PC software. With the optional BTA2 dongle, the DSP can also be controlled with the new “Tunest” app via iOS or Android smartphones (see App Store).
