The woofer in the component set (available separately as ZX6.2W) comes with a die-cast aluminum basket and an aluminum phase plug. The sandwich diaphragm is made of a triple fiberglass composite material, which is particularly lightweight yet exceptionally stable. The frequency response is extremely linear and requires almost no correction by \"crossover tricks\". The powerful 14-ounce magnet drive provides plenty of power, driving a very large 30.5 mm voice coil. This makes a total mechanical excursion of up to +\/- 11 mm possible. The also separately available 25 mm ZX6.2T fabric neodymium tweeter with coupling volume (resonance frequency 700Hz) covers a particularly large frequency range up to well over 24 kHz very linearly.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e \u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe highlight of the 2-way component set, however, is that it is already prepared for 3-way operation: The 7.5 cm optional ZXM3 mid-range driver can be connected additionally to the ZXO-2 crossover without much effort: Simply switch the jumpers in the crossover to 3-way, connect the mid-range driver with the bandpass crossover; done.
