Compact QUANTUM amplifiers using Class D technology have been at the forefront of the ESX program for years. The range extends from the EISA Award-winning QE1200.4, delivering 4 x 300 watts RMS and stable at 1 ohm, to the palm-sized QS-TWO, which fits anywhere. The wide selection offers a vast range of combination possibilities. But that's not all: ESX is now expanding the Quantum program with two additional Class D multi-channel amplifiers, offering a massive 6 x or 8 x 125 watts RMS at 2 ohms, outstanding sound quality, and the latest features.

The new models in the QUANTUM QL series hold a special place in the ESX program in this regard. Ideally, 6- and 8-channel amplifiers are configured not to drive high-power 12- or 15-inch subwoofers, but to unleash their potential in 2- or 3-way systems. ESX multi-channel amplifiers are designed to utilize the many channels and adjustment options to optimally power tweeters, midrange drivers, or midbass drivers. In this configuration, they offer significantly more power than might be assumed at first glance – specifically, up to 160 watts RMS per channel. How is this possible? Quite simply! By actively distributing the frequency ranges across multiple channels or speakers in the vehicle, not all speakers ever play at full power at the same time. In this case, the amplifier utilizes the power reserves of the generous power supply, which all channels can access when needed. This feature is referred to by ESX as Dynamic Headroom Technology or simply DHR.

If you were to choose to use four 2-channel models instead of an 8-channel amplifier, for example, the DHR function or dynamic power gain would not be achievable. This is because the power supply of the first amplifier is not capable of powering the channels of the second amplifier as well. In this sense, 6- and 8-channel ESX amplifiers have a dynamic advantage in multi-channel applications.

If, for budgetary reasons, you still plan to provide complete vehicle sound, including a subwoofer, using only one Quantum amplifier, this is also not a problem thanks to the equipment and the ability to bridge all channels. It is even possible to control the bass level via a wired bass remote. For the QL800.6, bridging channels 5/6 to provide 250 watts of mono power is recommended. The QL800.8 can do even more, delivering 2 x 250 watts RMS at 4 ohms on bridged channels 5/6 and 7/8, including bass control, thanks to the Copy function. Those who want even more convenience and power can combine the new multi-channel amps, for example, with a QL800.1 monoblock amplifier, which confidently delivers up to 800 watts RMS at 1 ohm.
