True car audio enthusiasts know: a good subwoofer in the car is essential, otherwise the whole system is no fun at all. However, due to their basket or diaphragm construction, good subwoofers usually have quite large mounting depths and often cannot be installed in the desired locations. This problem can now be solved with the shallow-mount HiFonics ZEUS STREET ZST subwoofers. Thanks to their small mounting depths of just under 8 or 9 cm, these problem solvers find space everywhere, even where conventional subwoofers are simply too deep.

Conventionally constructed subwoofers have a deeply formed cone, which holds the diaphragm well in shape, but unfortunately significantly determines the mounting depth in a negative way. If you want to reduce the mounting depth, such diaphragms are out of the question; you have to use flatter versions. However, if you were to build these from conventional materials such as paper or plastic, shallow subwoofers would not sound good. That is why the diaphragms of the ZEUS STREET ZST series are made from an extremely hard glass fiber/carbon composite material. Only in this way can it be ensured that at high bass excursions, the air is compressed cleanly and no distortion occurs. The drives with large magnets and 50 mm moving coils, which allow an X-Max of up to 15 mm (+/-), are also unusual for their class.

The 20 cm Sub ZST8 can fully play out its potential in a sealed enclosure volume of 10-15 liters, while the ZST10 should be used from 15-25 liters. Both subwoofers also play very well in a bass reflex tuning, which requires a little more volume but then plays even more powerfully.
