At the heart of the HiFonics ZEUS EVOLUTION subwoofer drive are powerful Y35 magnets with a diameter of 140 mm, which drive large 64 mm voice coils. These are ventilated with thermally beneficial pole piece holes. In addition, so-called "bumped" T-plates (top plates) provide an even longer excursion, reaching up to +/- 17 mm (X-Max). While inexpensive woofers usually use pressed cones, the ZXE woofers use expensive, hand-laid paper cones with double-stitched surrounds, which are known for their particularly good sound. All these ingredients give the ZXE subs an extremely good efficiency of 92 or 90 dB at 2.83 volts/1 m, meaning that even with a small input, the bass produces high volumes. The Thiele-Small parameters are designed so that you can build sonically impressive bass reflex enclosures with plenty of low-end extension, as well as medium-sized sealed enclosures, using the ZXE woofers. Free-air application is also possible.

Visually, the Zeus woofers also live up to the HF style: a newly tool-cut gasket, the typical blue HiFonics magnet boot, and the blue-stitched surround-cone seam proudly display the HiFonics brand insignia.
