Sundown Audio X10 v.4

The X v.4 series is the entry point into Sundown Audio's "Ultra-High-Excursion" suspension and basket designs.

They all feature our custom-designed and patented baskets (US patent numbers D691596, D691597, D691598, and D741841).

We combine these new platforms with a triple-stacked motor structure with a 225 mm (8.86 inch) diameter, featuring an extremely extended pole piece and extreme spacing (allowing up to 4 inches of p-p excursion before hitting the mechanical bottom). This motor drives a 4-layer flat aluminum coil with a 3-inch diameter, wound on a thick aluminum former, to incredible excursions.

This is the same coil design that was used in the past in the NS v.3 and Z v.5 series. It is a proven coil with enormous power potential. The combination of the coil and updated motor for the X v.4 series brings its performance in terms of motor power to about 85% of the level of the previous generation's Z v.5 series! This makes the X v.4 an incredible value.

The X series works in the same small enclosures you are accustomed to with Sundown Audio subwoofers, but can also handle enclosures that are up to about 50% larger than these if you want even stronger low-end extension. The X v.4 series is truly a different kind of woofer due to its incredibly linear suspension. They are designed for the LOWEST bass reproduction possible in a small enclosure, while also providing extremely low distortion levels.
